Decorations with donut inspiration
Let’s start the party with some sweet decorations! A quick, easy way to add an instant “donut flavor” are with a few colorful donut inflatables and donut lanterns. You can decorate the inflatables in so many ways – string them over the dessert table (as below), place around the room or attach to the chairs for a cute party display.
Not only do the donut inflatables add fun to the decor, they can also be used for photo props for your little one and party guests.
Donut theme welcome banners
Welcome banners are another great way to add a big color splash to your party decorations. Why not add a cute donut shop banner with the birthday girl’s name front and center? Although these three shown below are for a first birthday, you can easily change them to any other age.
A cute donut display board surrounded by balloons and flowers is another easy-to-do eye catching decoration. You can get a pre-made one online or just find a lightweight board or heavy cardboard, add some small dowels (from your local hardware store) and secure. Then decorate with colorful donuts and a fun saying.
To add some fun party decorations, check out these cute donut theme straws. They come in a variety of colors too – pink and cream shown below.
We love the smile on the donut of this super cute donut balloon with a cherry on top! This would make a fun addition to any birthday party!
From prettymyparty, com, here’s a super cute Donut party hat! After the hats were shipped, she added the cute pompoms with sprinkles and a bottom scalloped fabric to really dress it up.
For a donut theme first birthday, this high chair banner in pastel rainbow colors is adorable. Complete with white ribbon, pastel colored tuille and donut theme signs, she will look so sweet with her first smash cake. Can also be used as a decoration or tutu after the party.

Fun activities for the Kiddos!
If you’re having the party outdoors, a fun activity would be a donut ring toss! Each kiddo gets his or her own supply of donuts and let the tossing begin. The sprinkles on this table are actually painted Popsicle sticks – too cute! For info on how to create this cute game, (you will need power tools!) just go to savlabot.com. Or, if you’re short on time and power tools, you could turn over a three legged table or stool to use as a ring toss.
You could also use these fun plush donuts (with sprinkles!) for a bean bag toss. These are 5″ around and come 12 to a box and could also make wonderful little favors to send off with the party goers.
